XIMAD, Inc. launched today two new officially licensed iPad books featuring beloved classic children’s stories by Brothers Grimm and E. T. A. Hoffmann. Two of the top selling children’s books of all time, Rapunzel (free download) and The Nutcracker ($0.99) are now available as interactive eBooks in the App Store.
Rapunzel is a German fairy tale in the collection assembled by the Brothers Grimm, and first published in 1812 as part of Children's and Household Tales. The Grimm Brothers' story is an adaptation of the fairy tale Persinette byCharlotte-Rose de Caumont de La Force originally published in 1698.
The Nutcracker (originally The Nutcracker and the Mouse King) is a story written in 1816 by E. T. A. Hoffmann in which young Marie Stahlbaum's favorite Christmas toy, the Nutcracker, comes alive and, after defeating the evil Mouse King in battle, whisks her away to a magical kingdom populated by dolls.
The apps’ dynamic typographic layouts can be animated using the device accelerometer; illustrations respond to your hand-gestures and come to life as you flip the pages.
“Rapunzel and The Nutcracker are created to the same high standards, by the same creative team and featuring the same feature set as our beloved books from “BooksAlive” series. We are excited to be sharing it with the world.” said XIMAD’s founder Eugene Devyatyh. “Our apps are genre breaking, rich in content, and lovingly put together to the highest possible standards.”
